Hello! My name is Andie Threatt and I am thrilled to be teaching at this fantastic school for another year! I love this community of teachers, staff, parents that have partnered together to see that our students are taken care of mind, body, and soul. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood/General Education through 6th and did my student teaching at Hexter before I was hired on to teach second grade. What a fun age to teach! This is going to be a great year and we are all here to make a difference in the world, not just Hexter, and not just Dallas, but the WORLD!
In my free time I enjoy chasing my two year old and baby, drinking too much coffee, and traveling to new places with my husband of 5 years, Tavner. I love being a mom and a teacher and both take time and patience to grow into. This year I hope to Grow Greatness in 2nd Grade! My Amazon Wish List |

I am so excited to be teaching at Hexter Elementary for a third year. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University May 2014 with a degree in elementary education. I have obtained a certification in early education through sixth grade and a certification in ESL (English as a second language). I have absolutely loved being part of the Hexter community! Teaching is a passion of mine and I look forward to setting goals with my students and doing all I can to help them achieve those goals!
This year I am incorporating Flexible Seating in my classroom in order to create a more personalized learning experience for my students. Learn more about Flexible Seating here. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, Matthew, and our dog, Luna! Some of my hobbies include: Cross-Fit, baking, reading, and the occasional Netflix binge. My Amazon Wish List |

I am so thrilled to be adding Hexter Elementary as a part of my journey of being a teacher. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I was in the College of Education at UNT which allowed me to be an exchange student teacher where I student taught in Grapevine and in Sevilla, Spain. It was such an amazing opportunity to see how kids learn in different cultural settings. I am currently working on my Masters in Elementary Education at Johns Hopkins University (all online!).
This is my third year teaching in the Dallas Independent School District. I have taught fourth and fifth grade reading and I am so excited to get to teach second grade this year. I love working with kids of all ages. What I love most about teaching is the thrill of seeing someone learn something new. It is always so profound how every kid is able to see the same thing differently and that is what keeps me teaching! In my free time I love to do yoga and travel. Some fun places I have been in the past year are: New York City, California, Dominican Republic, Argentina, France, and Ireland. My Amazon Wish List |
